I would say not. Other countries don't use it. The fact is, we fall back on rocket launchings sometimes when the shuttle is not available. Sometimes rocket launchings of other countries. No other country seems to be adopting shuttles for launch. Other countries are gaining larger and larger percentages of launches for commercial satellites atop their rockets. Also, our own military was smart enough not to become dependent on shuttle launchings for its spy satellites. |

Firstly the russians also have shuttles and the chinese are working on them. secondly nobody is going to launch a missle into space while a shuttle containing people is in its way so missles and shuttles are disruptive to each other. Yes shuttles are disruptive however due to the expense of launching things into space they are usually done in batch lots infrequently so dont actually cause disruption. |
