I want to mention that India and Pakistan countries have been engaged in bilateral talks to solve the long-standing problem of Kashmir province so therefore I want to know that how much "progress" has been made to solve the above mentioned problem of Kashmir province. Please provide 'general information' about the above mentioned question. |

This looks pretty much the state of play :- http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/south_asia/4430730.stm This precedes it :- http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/south_asia/4357006.stm The earthquake calmed things down quite a lot - also, astonishingly, playing cricket This gives some interesting background :- http://ko.offroadpakistan.com/pakistan/2004_01/india_pakistan_and_the_kashmir_issue.html My understanding there has not been that much actual 'progress', but the general hostility has died down, which is a substantial turn for the good. Incidentally Pakistan is determined to retain its long term friendship with the USA, and now that the USA has decided that India is worth getting close to, the US is unusually acting as a 'peace monger'. |
