Dermatology and Hot tubs/spas. I have been having a light red rash on the inside of arms and legs at the extremities. This has been a minor concern for several months. It is extremely itchy and comes and goes with the use of the tub. I believe it to be associated with my hot tub/spa which I use Chlorine regularly. I use the tub once daily or every other day. I suspect this issue is bacterial related and had a doctor mention the term ?felicitus? which I?m not sure of the spelling. I recently changed the water, with no significant improvement. If I stay out of the tub for a few days, the itching goes away. This is the best answer I got from a doctor to correct the problem, which defeats the purpose of having a tub. Can someone identify this problem and suggest a solution either as an additive to the spa or a topical application to the skin? |

Rather than "felicitus," it may be that the doctor said "folliculitis." This article may be helpful: http://dermatology.about.com/od/infectionbacteria/a/htfolliculitis.htm |
