I've noticed in the CBS coverage of the 2006 NCAA Tournament that all
of the team coaches are wearing the same lapel pin.  It's a rather
large, hexagonal shaped pin .  Why are they all wearing this pin? What
is it symbolic for?

To my eye, the logo on the pin closely resembles the NCAA basketball
logo seen in the top center of this page:

I can believe that.  I was just curious if it represented some sort of
anniversary or milestone?

Though yes, I can believe it looks like the NCAA basketball.

they're celebrating this year:

It symolizes that they have accepted that they are slaves to the NCAA system.
