Ask him to do anything that would prove that he cannot do anything and everything. This puzzle appears to be a spin on the attempts to show that God is not all-powerful. The most common version I have seen goes something like this: If God is all-powerful, can He create a rock that he cannot lift? There are several variations on this question, such as: "Can God make a rock so big He can't pick it up?" Christian Apologetics & Research Ministry (CARM) http://www.carm.org/questions/rock.htm "Can he make a rock that he cannot move?" from "How Big is Your Rock?" Orin.net [the God document] http://orin.net/rock.html "Can God build a wall that is so heavy he cannot lift it?" from "The Non Existence of God", by Andy McCann Planet Papers http://www.planetpapers.com/Assets/4828.php Here's a similar paradoxical question: Can God create an indestructible object? "Refutation" Alternative Way Publications http://www.altway.freeuk.com/Answers/72-Refutation.htm If you ask the devil to do any of these tasks -- make an unliftable rock, create an indestructible object, and so forth -- he won't be able to do it. Therefore, he will have to do whatever you want! - justaskscott-ga Search terms used on Google: "if he can" "if he cannot" "if he can" "if he can not" |

Hi there Theory has it that "the Devil" was once the highest creature in heaven second only to God Himself before he led a "revolt" among the angels. So therefore the Devil knows creation inside and out. He is aware of every place in the universe and can go anywhere he wants. He is still permitted to do this for the time being in his efforts to separate mankind from the Creator. So, since he is fully knowledgeable of the universe and everyplace within it, I would simply ask him "to get lost." cheers digsalot |

>If you ask the devil to do any of these tasks -- make an unliftable rock, create an indestructible object, and so forth -- he won't be able to do it. Not really, because the devil can do tricks. 2 Thessalonians 2:9, "Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders," Yes, lying wonders. He can do it in front of your eyes. An ordinary man will be deceived, but it's a lie. The answer to inkt-ga's question is very simple. The Bible says that the devil is a liar. John 8:44, "Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it." So ask the devil to tell the whole truth. I am 100% sure -- he cannot do it. |
