From this EU site, it seems that it will be very difficult for you to identify adulteration of honey: http://www.apis.admin.ch/en/bienenprodukte/docs/honig/authenticityrevew.pdf In Germany, members of the beekeepers association label their bottles accordingly, which I assume is a guarantee of the "pure honey" label. If other countries don't have a similar control, I can only suggest that you not buy unlabeled honey, even from ostensibly green producer/sellers at the market. You might to check with your country's honey producers' association. |

About 25 years ago, a maid who used to work for us in a North Indian town used to test honey by putting a small amount in her eye! She used to say that if it is genuine honey it will burn whereas sugar solution will not. Never tried it myself. |

One of the Researchers here, Sublime1, used to work in the honey business. Perhaps he will see your question..... Steph53 |

HI ! Itīs antonio, from Brazil. The only way you have to know if the honey itīs really true is to buying cristalized honey. Do you know when you see a honey vessel and in the bottom (or entire vessel) shows like if is completely with sugar? Like hard sugar. Thatīs it. This is truly honey. If you mix any other thing to honey, it will not create cristal like snow at the bottom of the recipient (bottle or vessel glass) Remember: DO NOT WARM HONEY IN A WATER FERVENT (EBULLIENT) RECIPIENT OR MICROWAVES OR DIRECTLY TO BURNER or ELETRIC STOVE OR WOOD STOVE OR ANY OTHER STOVE. because causes a reaction and the honey will turn on AN EXTREMELY POISON, that could literally kill a person. you can really DIE if you eats warmed honey. |
