I need a way to *safely* display HTML e-mail with links and attachments
using PHP. There is a project that produces an open-source PHP
library capable of doing this, but I lost the link and I can't find
it.

The project was mature and advanced and included MIME decoding of HTML
e-mail with images and attachments.

There is no answer at this time.

can you not use an existing project such as squirrel mail or neomail?

I would suggest looking for your project at http://www.sourceforge.net

I looked through SourceForge, but I couldn't find this project and I'm
not sure why. The project I'm looking for isn't a standalone webmail
application, but is instead a separate component whose only job is to
display MIME e-mail safely with attachments, including HTML and
images.

It might be used in SquirrelMail or similar webmail applications, but
I can't find reference to it.

Thanks for the suggestion.

In order to be safe, you just need to remove all the scripted language
parts : javascript, vbscript. That would be pretty simple to implement
in PHP.

Obviously. That's only part of the problem, though. What I need is a
tool that can decode a MIME e-mail and display it safely. If one of
the MIME attachments contains HTML, the HTML should be displayed, but
without unsafe elements (javascript and vbscript as you mentioned, but
others as well). Images should be decoded from their MIME segments
and displayed with the HTML.

Yes, I could write this, and I will do so if no one can find the
project I'm referring to (though I know it exists). However, I want
to avoid solving this problem by using someone else's open-source
solution. The point of their project was to create a reusable
mechanism for doing the sort of thing I'm trying to do.

Part of the problem in searching for this hard-to-find project is that
Google's results for searches like 'php safe html email mime' are so
clogged up with unrelated pages.

I'm upping the price to $15. Can anyone find this for me?
