i want to know how i can settle a lis pendens that was inposed on me
due to another owner before me who was convicted of a criminal act
money laundering and so forth back in 2001 i obtained my home through
quit claim for my relative which is not the person envolved in the
crime 2002 the government issued this on my property and iam not able
to sell now can i offer a offer in compromise just to clear this up?

What do you know about the case?  Can you give any reference?  There
must be some reference on the property records of county recorder.

yes there is the lis pendens in the records saying the property is
pending a law suit .

Contact the entity who filed the lis pendens and find out from the
source what it is for.  The lis pendens is on the property not you
personally.  This is why when you buy property you get title
insurance.  That would have turned up the lien and no one would buy a
property (different from your case) with a lien on it.  When you
received the quit claim deed you received the interest that the
converyor held- and you need to find our how they acquired the
property and whether they actually owned it.

maybe i wasn't clear about this situation there is alis pendens on my
property that my brother acquired back in 1998 through a foreclosure 6
months later my brother quit claimed the property to our mom 2 yrs
later my mom quit claimed it to my aunt 1 yr later my aunt quit
claimed it to me in 2001 now he gets indicted in 2000 for criminal
activity andmoney laundering so the government actually goes back from
1997-2000 inthe indictment and that is how my home ends upinlis
pendens please help! any suggestions
