I suspect that there is some sort of Canadian Content restriction on
the clothing/apparel purchased by the government for the Canadian
Armed Forces and the RCMP. By Canadian Content I mean that the goods
must be produced by a Canadian Company, using Canadian raw materials.
I cannot however seem to verify this suspicion. I am looking for a
specific policy or piece of legislation that states that the
Government MUST purchase from Canadian companies, or that the
Government WILL purchase from Canadian companies if the companies can
provide suitable goods. I am primarily interested in Canada, but
comparable info from the US would also be useful.
