Question ID: 711264
Is it possible to make a simple function-call (i.e. *not* a
method-call) from unmanaged code into managed code? (Yes or No)
If yes, how is it done? Code examples would be greatly appreciated.
If no, is the only option to use CoCreateInstance and then make calls
into the returned interface-pointer? (Yes or No)
If no, what other options are available? (Technology and code-examples)

(I have already studied various articles on the subject, but non of
them seem to provide fundamental architectural information, but rather
reflects other programmers more or less successfull experiments in the
area)

Thanks in advance

If you in your search for an answer come across an authoritative text
on Microsofts implementation of the CLR then I would be most
interested.

And to help you pitch your answer at a reasonable level: I have read
through ECMA 335 defining the CLI, and it has been helpfull for me
also to read ECMA 334. I am a novice to practical ".NET" development
and have about 14 years experience with Windows development in
general.

Thanks
