Hello,

I'm intending to investigate few sites regarding the way they deal with
my privacy (my personal information).

For that mission I want to build a model. I want to be sure I've checked all
the necessary aspects of this matter.

There are three main directions to it:

Offline methods:

(a) Learning the "zero state" of my computer, logging to a site, browsing,
and then checking the state of my computer (cookies, spyware, trojans ect).

(b) a software that gives me a log file of which files in my computer
where "touched" by the site I was connected to.

Online Method:

(c) Sniffing the outgoing packets and figuring what kind of information
is in fact leaving my computer.

What kind of answer do I need?

well, I'll be glad if one can give me a model of some kind so I could
be sure i've checked all the nessecery asspects. in that model I want
suggestions regarding the software I need.

further more, maybe my all idea is lacking an important part -
I'll be glad to be notified.

Thanks.

I think I would start with RegMon, FileMon etc (free downloads from
www.sysinternals.com)

I think they have a TCP/IP sniffer
