my company has a hosted exchange server.
we would like to save old emails for legal purposes, and currently we
do not use archiving but keep everything in the mailbox, since this
way they are backed up on the server daily. but the mailboxes have
become serveral GBs each and that makes outlook slow.
also another crucial factor is that these mailboxes are accessed from
multiple PCs each (office, laptop, and home pc!) and the archive needs
to be available on each pc and backed up.
my question is: is there a mechanism for automatic archiving that
allows the archives to be backed up and available on all PCs connected
to the mailbox other than manually creating an archive file, moving it
to each pc, and having a copy of it backed up.
thanks.
i am willing to invest a bit of money in commercial software that does
that and will consider it a valid answer if you inform me of such
software, unless it is very expensive and thus an unfeasable solusion
(more than about ~$50 per mailbox)

My company uses VERITAS Enterprise Vault

Seems to work okay.
