I need some images for a film I'm shooting in 2 weeks, a
hip-hop/horror short called RHYME ANIMAL. Specifically, we need links
to these images:
1. The marriage of Heaven and Hell.
2. The fires of Moloch.
3. Infants sacrificed in Carthage.
And most importantly...
4. "That famous photograph from China, the crowd torturing the woman,
ripping her limbs, devouring her alive? You expect her to be in agony
but you study the face, it?s transfigured. She?s in ecstasy.
Destruction freed her."
The germane excerpt from the script is below. Thank you.
------------
INT. RADIO STUDIO - CONTINUOUS
The mouth of JIMMY KING, 30, nearly touches the mic. Shiva and Judah sit nearby.
JIMMY
Now what sort of name is ?Shiva??
SHIVA (V.O.)
It's Hindu. Shiva Linga is a god of many attributes. Most notably, he
the destructive principle. In the sense that you have to destroy
before you create. It?s a cycle.
JIMMY
That?s some heavy stuff.
Judah edges away from Shiva, eyes him nervously.
JIMMY (CONT'D)
I thought you rappers were more into the bling.
SHIVA
That?s what the industry cultivates. Disposable culture. Disposable
ideas. Commodity fetishism.
JIMMY
Like my cell phone. I've gone through two already this year.
SHIVA
Your possessions consume you. What you own dictates your choices. But
Shiva?s here to motivate change. Whether in his manifestation as
herdsman of souls, or as the vehicle of divine wrath.
INT. HEAVEN?S LAIR - CONTINUOUS
Heaven and Rufus trade confused looks.
SHIVA (V.O.)
It?s an archetype with many manifestations. The marriage of Heaven and
Hell. The fires of Moloch. Infants sacrificed in Carthage.
JIMMY (V.O.)
"Carthage must be destroyed!" You know your history, Shiva.
SHIVA (V.O.)
That famous photograph from China, the crowd torturing the woman,
ripping her limbs, devouring her alive? You expect her to be in agony
but you study the face, it?s transfigured. She?s in ecstasy.
Destruction freed her.
INT. RADIO STUDIO - CONTINUOUS
SHIVA
Nothing lost, nothing gained. Even in a disposable culture. We
produce, we consume. The more we consume, the more we crave. The more
energy we expend, the more we need. Consumption and destruction. But
the essence of our lives is the transformation of energy.
JIMMY
On that note...why don?t we hear some lyrics, Shiva. |

The image we REALLY WANT/NEED is this one:
"That famous photograph from China, the crowd torturing the woman,
ripping her limbs, devouring her alive? You expect her to be in agony
but you study the face, it?s transfigured. She?s in ecstasy.
Destruction freed her."
I'll pay $20 JUST for this info. The source might be 1920s China/Shanghai.
Also, re. the other images (which I will tip you extra for), here's
some clarification, via a co-producer/co-writer:
-------------
- For marriage of heaven and hell, Blake's images are blended with text, so
maybe not appropriate. But there are other Blake illustrations that would
be nice (albeit not 100% accurate given the dialogue). Michael binding
Satan is a strong image of duality.
- I'd also suggest we look at Bosch and Durer for general images.
- Not finding much imagery of archaeological remains of Moloch sites in Syria.
- Maybe there are some illustrated bibles out there with images?
