I've tried everything, and I can say there is no way of getting a free
XBOX 360, or anything like that (computer, console systems, LCD
monitor) without participating in offers where your credit card is
required.
The way these companies make money is by luring you in with a free
trial - your credit card number is required in case you forget to
cancel, so they can bill you at whatever price they specify.
Some even charge for their initial offer - such as the free coffee
offers, you have to at least pay S&H (the coffee isn't bad though :-)
)
If you were to go through with this, you'd be cancelling offers like
crazy, end up paying for something, and also you have to refer friends
and get them to do the same thing.
In theory, this could work - you sign up for a certain offer that only
ends up costing $7-8. You get 8 friends to do it (or however many
have to complete it for you to get your item) - you have to find 8
people willing to sign up for something (and this requires a credit
card) and then cancel.
So, in theory this could work, but in reality it's much harder than it sounds.
If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.
There are however, legitimate survey companies. The one I belong to
(I used to belong to several, but I don't have time) is
http://www.harrispollonline.com/ - Harris Poll Online. You can earn
points by completing surveys and use those points for prizes. You do
have to do a lot there too to get points though.
In the end, the easiest way to get the XBOX would be to save away
$40-$50 a week for it (cut out going out to dinner once a week and put
that money towards it) and after a month and three weeks (at $50/week
= $350) you'd have enough for the XBOX 360 Core System (generally
$299.99 + tax in stores, prices are going down on eBay though).
Good luck. |
