By Elliot Spagat, Wall Street Journal October 1, 2002 PLANO, Texas Electronic Data Systems Corp. said it would pare expenses to reflect softness in the computer-services industry that may last well into next year. "Specific actions include a companywide reduction in overhead costs, a reprioritization of sales expenditures and initiatives to address underperforming assets," said Richard H. Brown, chairman and chief executive. He didn't elaborate in a letter to shareholders sent Monday. A company spokesman on Monday said there was no specific information available regarding the company's plan but did say that EDS' previous announcement that it planned to sell its subscription fulfillment business in Louisville where 800 people work has yielded about 20 interested companies. ================================================================= The question is who are the current companies/investors who have placed known bids to buy EDS' subscription services brach and what are the amounts of the bids to date (please state proven source for known data/answer). |

Domain of the Investment Bankers

The former Neodata business unit of EDS was purchased in 1997 for $277M (including the assumption of debt). It still employs about 800 people in Louisville, CO and another 650 in Longmont, CO. It's highly likely that the sale is being handled via an investment banker and little data will be available publicly until the announcement of an agreement to sell. |

Dear Bell -- It appears that there has been some industry speculation on potential buyers in Direct Marketing News. It's believed that CDS, Palm Coast and Kable Fulfillment Services are all believed to be interested. Yesterday's DM News article is here: http://www.dmnews.com/cgi-bin/artprevbot.cgi?article_id=21682 Best regards, Omnivorous-GA |
