What type of fish is called "passion fish?" I'd like to know if it's
an alternate name for a more common type of fish, or if not, a few
details about it such as origin, characteristics, etc. I'm looking
for a fish that would be served in a restaurant.

Possibly you have seen or heard of John Sayles' movie "Passion Fish."
If so, this may interest you:

"The 'Passion Fish' myth that Rennie tells appears nowhere in
Louisiana lore and is completely a creation of director John Sayles."
