I thought John Travolta played the father, but it might have been Sam
Neill, but I don't think so. Someone who might remind you of either of
them. The teen age son doesn't go the the daughter's performance at
school, but instead kills himself in the car in the garage with carbon
monoxide. The family leaves the house. I think the parents divorce.
There's a scene where the daughter comes back into the empty house
with a boy or girl friend. The actor who played the son was sort of
lanky, dark haired. THANKS!
