Dear Perr There is nothing wrong with your overall plan. However i would like to add my 2 cents by saying that your overall budget of $500 (per month ) may simply be unrealistic. TO make this type of move will probably involve a minimum of $1000 investment. If you do decide to drive especially with a 98' Honda you run a risk of the car breaking down and then you are into a whole lot of extra expense (car toe, repair , staying at a motel etc.) which will most likely be in excess of $1000. My suggestion is that you fly to Edmunton, find a reasonably priced guest house/bed and breakfast (all possible over the internet) and then find a job. At this point you will be in a better position to rent a place. (sharing arrangements will probably be cheaper and involve you in less hassle) If you do decide to drive, I would suggest that you get a full service on the car before you leave (which will probably be $1000 or more if you do it at a Honda dealership) It may not be a bad idea to get some sort of temporary loan (from the bank or even from friends/family) to help you out in the short term. The most important part of your plan is to get a job and you do not want to "slum it" when you are attending job interviews. Good Luck Mongolia |
