Question ID: 712228
I would like an icon on my Windows desktop which, when double-clicked,
will launch 4 applications:
(1) MS Word
(2) MS Internet Explorer
(3) MS Internet Explorer
(4) MS Internet Explorer

Additional requirements:
(a) When MS Word launches, I would like it to open a particular
(existing) document.
(b) I would like each of the 3 Internet Explorers to go to different
specified websites.
(c) I would like all 4 applications to be "tiled" on my display screen
(one in each corner).

Is any of this doable?

This program might do it. Try it out and let me know:

BATCHRUN

..."Description:
Batchrun will let you create batch files using a graphical
interface. In the good old days of DOS .bat files took care of this
task. They still do, but they're not exactly user friendly. With
Batchrun .brs batch files you can launch any number of programs or
dialup connections with just a simple click. You can control the
starting process with many properties like priority or run mode and
control their behavior a tad. You can even do more than starting
programs with the built-in file management functions like Copy,
Rename, Makedir, Delete and End Process. Batchrun batch files can be
launched from Explorer or placed in StartUp folder or on the
Desktop..."

It's a pretty good product with a neat, simple GUI.

I now have an icon on my desktop that opens a specific Word document
and goes to 3 different websites. (Four applications with a single
click!)

The only thing it can't do is "tile" the applications, but I can live with that.

Thank you! Please post your answer.

I would have bet that this couldn't be done.
I'm so glad that I was wrong.
Thank you!

Actually i think downloading a program for this is too much.
I would've prefered a more practical answer.

First, a batch file. Create many shortcuts, link to them through a
batch file and u're done. Described here:
http://www.relativetheory.net/tuts/batch_file.htm

Second, although not accepted by Antivirus software create the
following .vbs file through notepad:
------------
objShell = CreateObject("WScript.Shell")
objShell.Run("APP1")
objShell.Run("APP2")
------------
where APP1 and APP2 are the full pathes of ur applications.
