We are running an ERP Application server and users connect via GUI
using the statis IP address of the server. For security reasons we
need that users dont find out where this application server is
physically located. How may i give the users a different IP address

revealing the true IP address of the application server.

Hi,
Please install a proxy server

When the user logs in he can see only the ip address of the proxy
server and cannot locate the ip address of your server.

If the user makes a search based on the proxy server ip address either
it will not give a coorect location or will tell ip address cannot be
located

This is what we have used in many companies

To know more about proxy servers, please read the following;

What is a proxy server?
----------------------
A proxy server is a server that retrieves Web pages for you, providing
only its own identity to the sites it visits. Requesting data comes
first to the proxy, and through the requested proxy, the data is
transmitted to you. Usually, proxy servers are used to increase the
effective speed of your connection to the Internet, as they save files
that are requested most often in a special database called "cache".
Anonymous proxy server hide your IP address and hide information about
you and your interests.Besides that, anonymous proxy servers can help
in the cases when, for example, the owners of the Internet resource
impose some restrictions on users from certain countries or geographic
regions

Websites on proxyserver
-----------------------
There are many proxy servers available, some proxy servers are
available for a free download or for limited period

Additional Security features
----------------------------
Depending on the type of client, different security features are
available. For a Web client, the choices include digital certificate
support, SSL support in the browser environment, Java applets, and
applications running SSL URL connections to the server.

The network layer allows control over which clients are able to access
which servers. Often a demilitarized zone (DMZ) is set up to
disconnect the Internet from direct access with the internal network.
This typically involves a firewall, a router, proxy servers, mail
relay servers, a domain name server (DNS), and a Dynamic Host
Configuration Protocol (DHCP) server. Collectively, these tools can
deliver a variety of security services:

-Packet filtering to control clients through IP address
-Network address translation (NAT) to hide internal IP addresses
-A firewall to limit IP port access
-DNS user names to hide internal IP addresses
-DHCP to dynamically assign IP addresses
-Proxy servers to prevent direct connections between the Internet and
internal systems
-IPSec protocol to run VPN connections for encrypted traffic on a
point-to-point basis between remote systems
-Relay of mail from outside servers to internal mailboxes
-SSL protocol to provide data encryption between external clients and
the internal network
