The CMOS battery in the thinkpad 560X is referred to as the "Backup Battery" according to the ThinkPad 560X Hardware Maintenance Manual. The manual is located here: http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/document.do?sitestyle=lenovo&lndocid=PFAN-3T5RFV On page 70 of the PDF there is an image which shows how the backup battery is removed. To sum it up, there is a panel on the bottom of the thinkpad that you can unscrew and open. Within the panel is the tadpole (i think it is often a yellow color) like backup battery. I am not sure where you can buy a new battery since the Thinkpads are so old. The first site that froogle shows when searching for "thinkpad 560x CMOS battery" is http://www.dsmiller.com/html/Laptop-NoteBook-IBM-ThinkPad-560X-B-313.htm which sells them for about $8. |
