When I use the Mozilla Firefox browser that I downloaded I can no
longer see some of the visual aspects of many websites I call up.
Specifically the maps on Google Maps and Mapquest do not appear even
though the rest of
the site is open. And when I try to order something from Amazon.com,or
similar sites the "buttons" that allow specific information to be
entered no longer show up. These visual aids do show up on my
Microsoft Explorer browser. I downloaded the latest version of Mozilla
Firefox browser several times but the problem persists. It seemed to
appear when I was using the Options under the Tools pulldown menu of
the Firefox and Explorer browsers, but I am not sure. I
have tried to undo what I might have done but nothing seems to work.
What should I do to correct this problem? timsomes

Hello Timsomes,
If you newly installed Firefox, probably you have not yet put in some
necessary add-ons that will allow some functions on other websites to
work. These are:

Macromedia Flash and Shockwave plug-ins from:
http://www.macromedia.com/downloads

and the Java Platform at:
http://java.sun.com
(for this, just get the current J2SE basic installer)

Please try to download and install first these plug-ins and let me
know if they make the websites work.

Timsomes,

Did you perhaps uncheck the Load Images options under the Content section?

Hello,

If JavaScript was disabled this could cause such an issue. To check if
JavaScript is enabled in FireFox click on "Tools" then "Option.." and
then click on the "Content" tab. If the "Enable Javascript" is not
checked this could be the cause of the error. I would check the
"Enable Javascript" and then give Amazon.com another try.
