I am seeking references to original census or demographic data for
Eastern Syria (e.g. NOT in the Western mountans and along the Med.
coast), as obtained by the French in the 1920's after their
occupation.  I'd like full bibliographic info (including reference to
any associated maps), library or holding
insitution URLS, and (important) the exact author entry on the
libraris bibliographic database record...(for more $$., see my
