Dear ultranett,

This company, in all its incarnations, is clearly a scam. There can be
no doubt about that, for the following reasons:

-- The Domain --

I have examined the ownership record of their Web domain,
simalingkar.com. Two things about the record are interesting:

1. The alleged identity and location of the owner
"110 Ogden avenue, obbs Ferry 0 10522" is not an Indonesian address.
Actually, it is an address in New York state - but the correct name of
the town is "Dobbs Ferry", and the correct postal code is "NY 10522".
The scammers did not even bother whether the address is written
correctly and makes sense. There is both a street named Ogden Avenue
in Dobbs Ferry, and a house No. 110 in that street. But I have no
doubt that the person who registered the domain is not at all
connected with that address. Why would an Indonesian company register
their domain through an individual living in a small village in New
York? That approach would be unnecessarily complex, since there are
domain registration providers in Indonesia, too. Actually, this is
typical behavior of fraudsters: They use just any addresses they find
somewhere to register the domains they need for their scams.

2. The alleged administrative contact
The domain record also contains information about the alleged
administrative contact of the domain:

person: RICKY WILLIAM
organisation: PLASMA STARR
address: Brigjen Katamso 55 B Muara Bungo
address: Jambi, 26351
adresse: ID

That contact information is a very clumsy fake. The postal code 26351
does not belong to the town of Muarabungo on Jambi island at all.
There is no Brigjen Katamso street in Muarabungo either. The
fraudsters simply took some postal code and some Indonesian locations
to make up a fake address for their "Plasma Starr" company. Of course,
a real, reputable company would not do that.

-- The Company --

No company of the name "Global Tech" - which is the name they use on
their website - or "Plasma Starr" is listed in the official Indonesian
database of registered companies. They are simply not existing.

They claim that their address is Thamrin 29 in Medan, Thamrin No. 29
in Medan, postal code 20157, Indonesia. But that address is fake, too.
There is a Thamrin street in the city of medan, but the postal code
20157 is not at all associated with that street. The correct postal
code for No. 29 in that street is 20232.

-- The Payment Options --

For orders from outside Indonesia, they accept only two payment
methods: Telegraphic Transfer and Wire/Bank Transfer. This is typical
for scammers, since it is virtually impossible to trace back who
actually received the money or to call back the transfer. This is
especially true for Telegraphic Transfer, but Bank/Wire transfers to
extremely shady companies in countries like Indonesia are just as
dangerous. The fraudster may cancel his bank account once he received
the money and then vanish into thin air, never to be seen again.

The results in brief: "Global Tech" or "Plasma Starr" are not
registered as a company in Indonesia. On their website, they present a
fake mailing address. Their Web domain was registered using simply
some US address which they not even managed to write without horrible
mistakes. The address of the "Plasma Starr" administrative contact is
also an obvious fake. And they insist on payment methods preferred by
scammers in certain countries.

With this more than clear evidence, it is not even necessary to locate
previous victims of Global Tech. They are a scam. I advise not to
trust them at all and not to do any business with them.

Hope this advice is useful for you!
Best regards,
Scriptor
