What is Amazon.com's market share in the U.S. DVD market? I would like
to know both its total market share (i.e., among brick-and-mortar and
Internet retailers) and market share just among Internet retailers.

Terpfan91,

I can provide you with Amazon's DVD sales market share among Internet retailers.

If you are interested in the partial information that I was able to
locate, you could lower the price of your question accordingly.

(You can change the price by going to "My Account,"
selecting "My Unanswered Questions", clicking on the question, and
then clicking on "Change Question Parameters" to modify the pricing.)

Would this information be of your interest?

I look forward to your clarification.

Thanks,
Bobbie7

How about $80 since it turns out to be 1/2 the answer. Between that
and the other answer you gave me it will make an even $100. Does that
work for you?

Dear Terpfan91,

According to an article published in Video Business Magazine in
December 2005, Amazon has an estimated 90% market share for DVD sales
among Internet retailers.

Excerpt:

?In many ways, Amazon.com is like no other retailer in DVD.
From its limitless virtual shelf space allowing it to carry every DVD
released to its ability to target customers directly through their
past purchases, Amazon has built-in advantages that few other
retailers can claim.

The company dominates online DVD sales with an estimated 90% share and
ranks as one of the Top 10 DVD retailers overall. By virtue of being
in the online space, it doesn't face the same pricing pressure as its
bricks-and-mortar peers; new releases on the site tend to sell for
around $17.?
