I want to purchase CD recordings of *ALL 24* of the songs in "24
Italian Songs and Arias of the 17th and 18th Centuries", the classic
book of songs that nearly all classical singing students use at some
point during their studies. I most especially would like recordings
that use the Schirmer's Music edition. It is very frustrating to sing
these songs, as I do, during private singing lessons without having
recourse to CD recordings of professionals singing them. I have been
able to locate some of the songs on a Richard Tucker album, and on a
few CDs of sopranos I have encountered a song here and there from the
book.
What of course I would really like is a CD that has all 24, but for
some reason that does not seem to exist. So I will have to cobble
together my own collection by purchasing multiple CDs.
To answer my question, then, I need links of where I can obtain the
CDs I will need to purchase in order to have all 24 of the songs being
sung by professionals.
I'll take whatever I can get, but it will be better for me to hear
men singers. And as I mentioned it would be best if possible to get
recordings that use the classic Schirmer's Music edition. I use the
medium low edition, but I think Shirmer editions are the same except
for the key. For example, one of them is ISBN 0793525543 and another
is ISBN: 0793515130.
