Dear temtampa-ga;
Thank you for allowing me to answer your interesting question. The
answer is ?yes?, the State of California checks the National Driver
Registry (NDR) and it?s subsidiary database, the Problem Driver
Pointer System (PDPS), when considering new applications:
?The National Driver Registry (NDR) will change computer centers. The
NDR runs the Problem Driver Pointer System (PDPS), which all 50 U.S.
states and the District of Columbia are required to check as part of
the driver's license issuing process.?
AMERICAN ASSOCIATION OF MOTOR VEHICLE ADMINISTRATORS
http://aamva.net/newsandalerts/newsarchives/mem2004_01.asp?ct=all&qu=Member%20News%20Archives&st=f&action=search
?California and all other states participate in the "problem driver
pointer system" (PDPS). When you apply for a driver?s license in
another state, the system alerts them to any action against your
driver?s license in other state(s).?
SUPERIOR COURT OF CALIFORNIA

?The California Court system also states that CA and many other states
participate in a problem driver pointer system (PDPS). This means
when you apply for a CA driver's license this system alerts the DMV to
any action against your driver's license in other states. The PDPS
searches National Driver Register (NDR) which is a central database of
information on problem drivers (those whose license has been revoked,
suspended, canceled or denied or have been convicted of serious
traffic related offenses) provided by all 51 US jurisdictions.?
