I am trying to acquire licensing rights to publish films on DVD. I
have managed to track down the copyright holders for a number of
films that I'm interested in, and have attempted to contact them. I
have spoken to a couple people by email, but ended up not receiving
responses back after my
initial emails. I went to the specific guidelines listed by a couple
companies to request licensing rights.. sending certified mails, and
faxing requests to specific offices. I never heard back from any of
these companies.

So my question is this:

Is there a person, such as a lawyer, or a mediator of sorts, whose job
it is to deal with situations such as this. If so, I need names and
contact info!

I am prepared to pay the price for licensing films, if only I knew how
or who to talk to!

Thanks in advance

If the middle-person would be preparing any contracts (beyond just
filling in blanks), this person would need to be admitted to practice
law in either your state or in the state where the rights owners are.
Then you could look for an attorney with experience in entertainment
law.

I am canceling this question due to the fact that a few days after I
posted it, I began receiving phone calls back from the companies that
I had attempted to contact! Thanks to anyone that helped out.
