If you use system restore to bring the computer back to any previous
date, any software you installed after the date you restored to will
not function. However, all your files in "My Documents will still be
there.

Is this what you need to know? If so, I can find a web site that
explains this and post it as your answer..

What do you mean by rebooting a computer to a date? Are you asking
about changing the system's calendar/clock so it thinks the current
date is some time in the past?
