I think this might help you: The passage from the Code of Virginia that defines candidates and parties: http://leg1.state.va.us/cgi-bin/legp504.exe?000+cod+24.2-101 And the case from which I found this: http://herndon1.sdrdc.com/ao/no/830015.html IF you want to have a chance in national elections, you need to get on the ballot in many states. Iowa has a nice one page site on the subject: http://www.sos.state.ia.us/pdfs/elections/FormingPoliticalParty.pdf I expect that the requirements are similar in other states, which justifies Probono's comment. :) |
