Hi, Why have I not received any comments or answers to my question "Q: Evidence on the validity of McGregor's Theory Y of Management" (http://answers.google.com/answers/threadview?id=704172)? I tried to price my question in accordance with the cost structure suggested in the tips section (http://answers.google.com/answers/pricing.html) and even raised the price from $9.50 to $13 but I still haven't gotten any response... |

Just a free comment. Some questions just don't fly. I see one problem in your request for mathematical or statistical evidence of MacGregor's theory, since from the little I read about it, it seems that it would be difficult to gather figures that supported or refuted the theory. Since you have read the FAQs, you will understand that G-A Researchers are free agents and can choose which questions they prefer to answer. Incidentally, you could have brought your original question back into sight by posting a Clarification, mentioning the price increase - rather than linking it to a new question. Regards, Myoarin |

You may be interested in this discussion: http://answers.google.com/answers/threadview?id=431075 On this particular question, my guess is that the information is not readily available on the Internet and it takes more than ten bucks to get a researcher out of his or her chair and off to the library. Of course, I can't speak for anyone but myself. |

Hello Bkm, If my opinion can help, I'd tell you that finding an answer to your question may take hours or days searching *and* reading scholar papers, so its value should be very much higher than the rank within which you priced it that is -- according to the "how to price your question" section you referred to -- for a question that "can be answered with 30 minutes of work" (http://answers.google.com/answers/pricing.html ). To be sure, the pricing tips are just orientative suggestions -- there's always the possibility that a researcher is particularly interested and or familiar to the subject, and works on it regardless of the low fee. Otherwise, I doubt that the fee offered would match the amount of work required for your question. My two cents. Guillermo |

I agree that this question is very challenging, and is probably worth at least 30, more like 50 dollars. Browse around some answered questions here at GA and check it out. See how much people pay for similar amounts of research. From my own preliminary search, and small knowledge of McGregor's Theory of Management, I'm guessing that the information is not available over the internet, and may not in fact be available anywhere. If it were available, my guess would be in a past edition of a business magazine, or in a book on business. Finding these would involve a trip to your local reference library (if the research has one near him/her!) and a lot of time talking with librarians, looking through books' indexes, and searching magazine archives. It may be valued at over 75 dollars, really. Certainly 13 is much too low. |
