Why did Trot Nixon wear #93 in the exhibition game vs. the Phillies
this past saturday, April 1?

Apparently, both the Red Sox and the Phillies wore red jerseys on
Saturday.  Trot brought his grey 'away' jersey with him, but didn't
pack his special red jersey.  So he had to wear another number.

Here's the only reference I can find in any of the blogs, of course it
isn't very detailed:
