In the "Mega Millions Lottery" (Formerly "Big Game") I am curious
about the statistics of winning numbers. Please list in ascending
order of frequency, by individual number. Links to your references
are fine, but any lotto site is blocked by my server.

What are the rules? How many numbers are you choosing from? If there
are six numbers, is there one number that needs to be matched, and
then five others? If there is also one separate number, could it be
the same as one of the other five? Etc?

What are the different combinations you want probabilities for? Match
six numbers, five of six, etc?

I found the rules and an odds chart. Here is a link.

http://www.state.nj.us/lottery/games/1-1_mega_millions.shtml

You pick:

1 of 46 and
5 of 56.

The probability of winning the grand prize is 1 in 175,711,536.

    22 100
     5 102
    47 102
    32 105

This is the number of times each number has been picked in the 925
drawings since September 1996. The number of picks for numbers above
50 are low because the numbers ran from 1 to 50 until May 2002, then
from 1 to 52 until June 2005, and from 1 to 56 since then. "Mega
ball" numbers ("money ball" before May 2002) are not included in the
above statistics.
