I know I'm being pedantic, and you'll hate me for it - but "kids" are young goats. If your question is about young people, then I suggest you define the precise age group that interests you. |

For your information, in the United States, "kids" is an acceptable, non-offensive term used in every day conversation for "children". Most people seem to be unaware the term even applies to young goats. Not because they are ignorant, but because languages are living things and in the US kids has become more common when referring to children than to goats. I do agree that formally one perhaps should say children if that is meant, just as one should formally use a certain type of gobbledy-gook understood by almost no one. |
