1- Native American and African religions share a strong belief that
animals, rivers, stones and trees are spiritually alive. (Read the
Native American story of Wooing Wohpe on pp47.from Religions of the
World 8th edition by Hopfe and Woodward)
2- Do you think this view is fundamentally different from the Western
view of nature as something to be used for man's purpose alone? The
Book of Genesis seems to imply that the land was cursed due to Adam's
sin? (Genesis3:8-24) Does this biblical story seem different from the
Native American one? |

I may be reading things wrong but the way the question is worded with
the inclusion of (Read the Native American story of Wooing Wohpe on
pp47.from Religions of the World 8th edition by Hopfe and Woodward),
makes it sound as though it were lifted straight from a test or
homework assignment sheet. Is that the case?
If it is, do you want the answer in a form you may use as a finished
test answer or turn in as a paper and how many words does it need to
be?

Could you please summarize the story of Wohpe in your own words? I
have a number of references to Lakota creation myths that include the
word Wohpe, but I don't know if they refer to the same story that you
have.
Also, what is your source for your statement on the Western view of
nature? Certainly within some Judeo-Christian traditions there are
other perspectives on the purpose of nature. Are you interested in
various theological perspectives on the relationship among God,
humanity and nature?

Hi Sparky,
I'm not Christian so am not familiar with the biblical reference. To
facilitate our job could you please summarize the "biblical story" you
mentioned? Thanks!

Perhaps if you'd show us the work you've done so far, a researcher can
suggest ways to polish and complete your assignment.

Researchers cannot give you homework in a complete form that is ready
to turn. They can, however, assist you in your search for information
about your question[s]. So do you want information and sources where
you can learn about the religions you mentioned? The 2nd question is a
"do you think" question and could be anything given enough supporting
evidence to back up your claim/idea/opinion.
