Dear researcher, :)

I want to start a Digital Cable TV Company overseas and I have just
started a research about it. I don't have much information yet, and
what I am actually asking is not how to go and get the papers for the
business but the followings:

- What equipment would I need for the main facility? (receivers,
transmitters, cable box for the end-user, and so on). And roughly, how
much would they cost overseas in Europe?

- What kind of equipment would I need to provide the new On-Demand
service? How much would this equipment cost roughly overseas in
Europe? Is it even possible to have it overseas in Europe because of
the copyrights and so on?

- Would I need to establish fiber-coaxial cables in order to provide
On-Demand, Hi-Speed Internet and Digital Phone Service?

I am thinking of starting the business in a small area where about
10,000 people live and then get bigger through time. I will have the
main facility (meaning the place where I will be transmitting the
broadcasts) in that small area where I will provide the services.

I am just trying to get an idea and I am not going to get hooked by
the details. As you can see I don't have much knowledge about the
cable tv business, but I am eager doing it! Suggestions will be
appreciated too. If you can get the most of the question right which
would satisfy me, you will still be paid. Thanks and good luck!

I think you should first investigate access to the Cable in the country.
Local cable broadcasting may not be available, or inordinately expensive.
IF you could suggest where you want to broadcast, maybe we can provide information.
Also, there will surely be registration requirements.

Let us know how we can help by posting a clarification or comment.

Dear myoarin-ga,

Broadcasting rights are not a problem. I can get the license to
broadcast easily and I prefer not to say where I will be broadcasting.
My question is about the technical equipment such as transmitters,
receivers and so on. Let me knoew if there is anything else I should
clarify. Thanks!!

Heck..

Just call up a local cable company and tell them how much you love
their services as you watched at say your friends house. Ask if you
could get a tour of their equipment. Take a camera or a picture
perfect mind and that may help you a good bit. Hope this helps
