In 1979 my father was given a bottle of "Southern Society" bourbon for
his 21st Birthday. This bottle was recently stolen during a home
burglary and I want to replace it. The problem I am having is since
it's so old I can't find it anywhere.

Below is what I can remember from the bottle:
- 100 proof alcohol
- Called Southern Society (NOT Southern Comfort)
- It is a Kentucky Bourbon
- 700ml bottle
- The label of the bottle was a dark colour, had a picture of what I
believe was a distillery
- Purchased in Australia

I want to find a company that sells unopened bottle of Southern Society.

Let me know if you require further information.

I assume you want an old bottle because of the sentimental value to
your father. If that's the case, you may already know (but not care)
that Bourbon (unlike wine, for instance) stops aging in the bottle
(see reference below). However, if you did not know that and have a
hard time finding a bottle from '79, you might just try to find a more
recent bottle since it won't really impact what's inside.

Aging for bourbon is much like it is for other distilled spirits the
aging stops once the distilled spirit is taken from the barrel and
placed in the bottle, so four-year-old bourbon was aged for four years
in barrel before it was bottled. Once in the bottle it will always be
four-year-old bourbon no matter how long it is saved.
