Perhaps you're referring to Face the Nation, a long-running television news show:

Sorry, let me clarify. I don't think it's Face the Nation, although
thanks for the tip.

Here's some background. I own WebSherlock.com which is one of the
online investigative search sites that myoarin-ga mentioned below in
his comment. Yesterday, we received a large number of sales,
irregularly large, coming from people searching for "faces of the
nation". We typically get 40-50 clicks per day on our Adwords ad on
that keyword, and yesterday we received over 1,000 clicks. Through
keyword research, this was one of the keywords that we listed our ad
on, but I still don't know what it is, or why it's so popular, and why
it was so popular yesterday.

Ideas?

"Companies like DBTOnline, started in 1992, constantly collect such
data from across the country and use powerful new software to mix and
match the scattered bits of information.

With a product called 'Faces of the Nation,' for example, DBTOnline
allows its 20,000 users private eyes, insurance agents, bill
collectors and journalists to type in a name and get back the matching
Social Security number, date of birth and telephone number in less
than three minutes, for about $1.50, billed to a subscriber account."

Apparently the "Faces of the Nation" database was mentioned briefly in
an A&E Investigative Reports program called "The Mystery of I-45." I
wonder if the upsurge in interest is related to this television
program.
