Anyone know a proven reliable method for gathering email addresses
from my computer? I just want something to search my local machine and
collect all the email addresses it can find - including those in other
emails and inside Outlook & Outlook Express. If it can also scan
programs like Quickbooks and Act! that would be even better but it's
not necessary.
Not Required (but would be nice):
1. The program (or method should also have a way to remove duplicates.
2. Lastly, if it had a way to keep a name associated (like those it
pulls from Outlook) so I could do a mail merge, that would be even
better.
Remember: I'm looking for an app or method to gather addresses from my
computer...not the internet! |

Take a look at this free program and let me know if it suits your purposes:
Extract Emails 2.23
"Extract Emails is intended for extracting email addresses from files
and folders located on a PC or on the Internet, it lets you find all
email addresses you have on your PC, extract only those of them you
need, and place them to a plain-text file, which can be used by any
email program or mass mailer. Extract Emails allows you to filter
emails automatically while searching. Just define a powerful filter,
which lets you specify the list of allowed domains, file types and
masks, and the program will extract only those emails, which match the
criteria of the filter. The user interface of the program is very easy
to learn, excellent documentation is included."

Looking forward to your clarification.

From what I could tell the program you mention does not enable me to
collect emails from within Outlook. I want something that will scan
all the thousands of emails I have from years of emailing and collect
the addresses from, to, cc, bcc, and contained within.
