Cna someone provide a list of email addresses for all current U.S.
High School Students (grades 10-12) and those who have graduated in
the past 4 years (2002). These students should have expressed an
interest in pursuing Film, TV, Theater, Acting, Animation as a career
and/or college major.
Please provide list in Excel Format.

Obviously, I am new to this as I posted a comment instead of
clarifyint the comment. So here is some clarification which I hope
will make everyone feel comfortable.

I actually never thought of it that way, but I can see how it can
appear strange. I am the Marketing Manager for a film school in new
York City and we are looking to increase our enrollement by contacting
students via our newsletters who have expressed interest in
filmmaking, acting etc...

The purpose of my inquiry is to reach as many students as possible who
have expressed an interest in the arts and more specifically film,
theater, acting, screewriting, animation etc...

In order to make everyone feel comfortable, the list can be for High
School and College graduates who are 18 and over.

Please feel free to propose ideas on how we can dissiminate
information about our school programs.

Others may feel differently, but to me, publishing a list of the email
addresses of minors seems like a terrible idea.

If they're interested, they'll find you. Spamming will do nothing to
help your institution's reputation.

Yes, I personally would find it to be an invasion of privacy if my
e-mail was given out. I believe technology is becoming an increasingly
important aspect of human identity. People cater their IPODS to
personal taste, they have screen savers of images they enjoy and
e-mails are an extended part of the modern individual, which most
North American teens and young adults would be classified as. I
believe it may even be against the law.

Why not target drama groups, theater groups, high schools and their
respective careers counsellors rather than risk the integrity of your
film school. If your school is the real deal, you will be able get
them to advertise your website amongst their students and get the kids
to register to receive your newsletter via a legitimate process.

And just so that you are aware, as a mother of older kids, I would
have been absolutely furious to discover that your school had somehow
appropriated my kids' email addresses and put them, along with
hundreds (thousands?) of others in a readily accessible database on
the internet via this *public* forum. That is not the action of a
reputable film school. And it appears to be more than 'strange', it is
completely irresponsible. Do you honestly think that you'll be the
only one who then accesses this information?

BTW, in addition to thinking your marketing concepts through a bit
more carefully next time, do be sure to employ a good proofreader for
anything you send out. So far, I'm not that impressed with this new
york city film school.
