Question ID: 715859
FBI's 'Uniform Crime Report' reports the # of annual murders at each
state. Statistics can be found here:
http://www.disastercenter.com/crime

However, I need specifically the murders which involve firearms.

This URL leads to a .pdf file, which shows exactly what I need on the Page 3:
http://www.claytoncramer.com/DroppingCrime.PDF

However, I need the same information for each of the 50 states.

Shortly put, I need the number of people murdered by firearms in each
state. Data needs to be annually. From 1960 to 2000 is preferred, but
1980 to 2000 will also do.

This guy write the .pdf file says he got the numbers from the FBI,
however, I was not able to locate the information there. If you can, I
will be grateful.

numbers from the FBI, however, I was not able to locate the
information there. If you can, I will be grateful.

Hello Neutral,

The National Rifle Association of America, Institute for Legislative
Action provides the information you require for each State for the
years 1981 to 2002.
The statistics are provided in Excel spreadsheet formats.

To save a file, right-click on the file name and select "Save Target As". Then
select the location where you wish to save the file and click "Save".

Description:

The files for each of the 50 states, and the District of Columbia
"contain annual statistics for total deaths, total accidental deaths,
deaths due to various common types of accidents, total homicides,
total suicides, and firearm-related deaths (suicides, homicides, and
accidents).
(Source: National Center for Health Statistics)

Included are numbers, rates, and trends (one year to next, and any
year to present), and data showing each type of death as a percentage
of total and/or total accidental deaths."
