Boston always seems to me the most English but I guess that other places might seem more French (eg New Orleans), etc. I don't think that there's anything that's 'European' in style unless you equate European with bureaucratic muddle as epitomised by the European Community. Then maybe Washington. |

As an American living in Europe and having once spent a few years in Boston, I would agree that Boston is probably the most European-like US city. |

Define what you consider "European" Wherever you are in the USA, it belonged to Europeans at some time ;) |

I've heard that the French are particularly fond of San Francisco. I'm not sure whether this is because it is more "European"-like though. My guess is that they admire the more relaxed social morales, public transportation, and generally more politically progressive attitudes. |

Alaska was a Russian territory, so it was also "European". |
