Bottles

It doesn't seem to be on this site, but there are many other games:

As Myoarin has suggested, 'Bottles'.

If you don't know the game, I suggest that you start off with
'Quarter' and, when you've got megagallons of experience, move up the
scale until you reach 'Nebuchadnezzar'.

That's the big boys' game. It requires Vintage Champagne and, although
it takes the same time to play, the consumption required is very much
greater.

Quarter 18.75 cl
Half-Bottle 37.5 cl
Bottle 75 cl
Magnum 1.5 l
Jeroboam 3 l
Rehoboam 4.5 l
Methuselah 6 l
Salmanazar 9 l
Balthazar 12 l
Nebuchadnezzar 15 l

Unfortunately, Myoarin's link hasn't got any of these either!

"Sitting in a circle , start counting upwards. 1st person says "1",
2nd "2", 3rd "3" and on and on and on... when u get to a number with a
7 in it, or a multiple of 7 the person either says "Bottles!" or
"Shot!", takes a drink and the counting order reverses. if you screw
up and forget to say bottles/shot or count on someone elses turn you
have to take a drink. continue counting until everybody passes out, or
someone screws up, then start over!"

===============

"Count upwards, one number at a time, instead of saying a number with
a 5 in it or a multiple of 5 say "bottles", instead of 7's or
multiples of 7 says "Caps".
If a number has a 5 in it and is also a multiple of 5, say "Bottles
Bottles". E.g. 5 is Bottles Bottles, 7 is Caps Caps, 10 is Bottles, 14
is Caps, 15 is Bottles Bottles, 17 is Caps. 25 is Bottles Bottles
Bottles (5 * 5 with a 5 in it). 35 is bottles bottles caps.
This game is easy to learn and everyone will drink, but it gets boring
quickly. The best way to play it is elimination - once you get it
wrong, you're out and the game restarts from 1. This goes on until
only 1 person is left, then restarts with everyone in."

Is the reason for drinking games to distance oneself from taking
responsibility for over-imbibing? Sort of "it's not MY fault I'm a
pathetic, vomit-covered sack passed out on a friend's couch and just
begging to be teabagged; I merely forgot that any number that ends in
5 or 0 is a factor of five." Finally, a reason to pay attention in
math class, children!

I rarely drank as a kid and don't do it much now. Puh-leez don't ask
what I DID do back then, though...

Dear Markvmd-ga

Surely, this ...

'Is the reason for drinking games to distance oneself from taking
responsibility for over-imbibing?'

Is another question?

Whereas this is simply a polite and urgent request:

Puh-leez tell us all what you DID do back then.

C'mon we're all agog!

I am pleased that Bryan seconds my choice.
Back when, down under, we played that you had to empty your glass if
you missed your turn in any way. As you can imagine, the game usually
goes pretty smoothly till 27, 28, both "bottles" and 35 - 37, when the
order reverses twice quickly.

The game seldom gets to 47 - 49.

No, Mark, the intention is not to get "blot-oh", on the contrary, it
is to prove that one is not.

I suggest that Bryan invite us all for a round or two - just quarters, thank you.

Cheers, Myo

What the hell does "blot-oh" mean...and why are some people naggin on
drinking games, maybe they are jealous of all the fun they missed out
on in highschool and University. Anyhow buddy I a freshy at UofO and
last nite we played the funnest drinking game its easy you take some
bread and each person throws it into the mouth of the person across
from them. No math or bull involved, but everyone starts drinking and
gets wasted. Oh yeah, if the person gets in their mouth the person
throwing the bread drinks, otherwise the person throwing drinks. Make
sure to break the bread into smaller pieces, another aim for the throw
can be between the girls shirt. We do that one in private. Well take
care and happy drinking.

And You have to ask what "blot-oh" is?
No hangover, maybe, but still some alcohol in your fingers,
looking at the typing. ;-)
