I am trying to find an old school teacher that taught me in high school. I am limited with my information about him, so I need to search somewhere other than peoplesearch.com. I have his name (no middle name), the year and name of the high school where he taught me, where his parents lived at that time (city and state only), where he attended college and his major (years unknown). Also his approximate age. I realize this is not much information, but surely people can be found on the web somewhere. I just don't know of any other place to search than peoplesearch.com. Can someone give me some other places to look? Oh, he taught me in 1965.....many years ago, so this makes it more difficult. I would like to know if he is still alive or not. I hope someone can help me. MeeMaw |

Dear meemaw-ga; Thank you for allowing me to answer your interesting question. Because we cannot give information about private individuals by policy I?m actually glad you didn?t divulge the name, nor could I assist you in locating him (even if I knew how to). But since you limited your question to ?search sources? I can assist you by passing along some that I have found to be fairly beneficial. In my opinion these all certainly qualify as notable ?other places to look?: To find out if the person is deceased you can search the SOCIAL SECURITY DEATH INDEX. This is a public database of persons on the Social Security roles who are known to have died: SOCIAL SECURITY DEATH INDEX http://ssdi.genealogy.rootsweb.com/ (use the search fields at the bottom of the page because the field where it says ?Search Ancestry? will get you nowhere.) You can search telephone directories all across the United States in one single public database by using SWITCHBOARD.COM http://www.switchboard.com Similar to ?People Search? is VEROMI.NET . While the free public portion of this database has limited information it shows quite a bit more details that most other databases. If you know the names of the man?s relatives, for example, the search results often show the names of spouses, children, etc which might help you narrow down your search. VEROMI.NET http://www.veromi.net/ I hope you find that my answer exceeds your expectations. If you have any questions about my research please post a clarification request prior to rating the answer. Otherwise I welcome your rating and your final comments and I look forward to working with you again in the near future. Thank you for bringing your question to us. Best regards; Tutuzdad-ga ? A couple of free suggestions: Contact the high school; Contact the alumni association of his college. You won't be able to access the alumni site of the college's website, but you can find a contact address. Contact the teachers' union for the area. I looked at the website for the one in Philadelphia, and it had a pensioners page (if he is still not teaching). If his name is not too common, telephone book websites could help. Good luck. |
