Can I fail a driver test in Florida for the only reason that during
the back up part of the test I backed up from my lane partly in the
other lane?

OR

if I don't look always through the back window but also to the front
to see that I back up in a straight line?

You asked: ..."Can I fail a driver test in Florida for the only

other lane? ..."

The answer is YES. I failed my drivers test for that very reason. You
must be able to back up and stay in the lane of travel, just like you
were moving forward.

You asked: ..."if I don't look always through the back window but
also to the front to see that I back up in a straight line? ..."

That would depend, I think, on the tester. You *might* pass if you
stayed in the lane and made it look effortless. However, when learning
how to drive, instructors teach the proper method of backing up, which
is to stretch and twist in your seat --and look to the rear with both
eyes on the actual road, looking BACK. I would assume that this is
required and learn how to do it right.

Think about it, when using the mirror, your field of vision is
SEVERELY restricted by the size of the mirror. This is not safe.
