Hi ultrasound78

Instead of just listing a bunch of names, I'm linking you to several
sites that specifically address the issue of naming twins. If you
select a dozen or so combinations/pairs that you think you might like,
I'll look up the meanings for you and add to my answer in a

Hi Cynthia,

Thanks for a quick turn around.
However, we can't really find what we need in those sites.

- On the first website (www.babiesonline.com) - we do not see twin Boy names.

- The second link (Abuot.com & ssa.gov) - We've visited the site and
seen those popular names for twins there, but we wanted unique names.

- Most of the names at Behindthenames.com are not sound alike.

- We need names that sounds a like, not anagram names.

- Invitingsmiles.com - there is no twin names.

- The Baby Name wizard also doesn't have twin names.

Clarification of Answer by cynthia-ga on 09 Apr 2006 14:00 PDT
Ok, so we've narrowed down you don't want anagrams or common names.

Do you like rhyming names that sound alike?

Aaron - Darren?

Let me know, and if so, I will select some pairs that sound alike for
you, then, from that list I will find meanings of the ones you like.

Clarification of Answer by cynthia-ga on 09 Apr 2006 14:01 PDT
One more thing, do you want them to both start with the same letter?

Request for Answer Clarification by ultrasound78-ga on 09 Apr 2006 18:18 PDT
Cynthia,

Yes, we want names that sound alike.
It could start with the same letter, but it doesn't have to.
Aaron - Darren is a good start.

To address nelson's comment, of course we do not want weird cutsie names.
I know sometimes there's a thin line between weird and unique. It
depends on people perspective.
So, here we just want to see ideas / creativities.

Thanks for the input, dieselmonkey and roxrox. We'll think it.

If you can come up with another 25 names, that'll be great. If not,
you can just throw in a few more.
We already appreciate your effort.
Thank you.

Don't give your kids weird cutsie names. Give them nice normal names.
You don't want them to resent you. Growing up is hard enough.
Remember, they'll be picking out your nursing home some day.

It is my pleasure to allow you to use my name - Bryan - for both twins.

One could be Bryan the Elder; the other Bryan the Younger.

As well as having rhyming that would delight any poet, the descriptive
value of the names should obviate the inevitable question 'Who's the
elder?'

The names can also be conveniently shortened to El and Yo.

I new you'd like them!

Congratulations and Welcome to El and Yo.

i am a one of a pair of identical twin boys - PLEASE do not name them
something that rhymes or even starts with the same letter. It is hard
enough finding one's individuality as a single birth, let alone as
part of a multiple birth... they will likely look similar and have
convergent thought processes (it is hard nto to when you share many of
the same experiences at the same developmental stages) - nothing else
needs to remind them they are connected to their brother.

Please do not name your son "Yo" that actually is my daughters name.
And it was before "Yo" became popular as a means of getting someones attention.
Actually Yo is an abbreviation of Yolanda, but it always has been just
plain old "Yo". So "Yo" is for a girl!!!!

As dieselmonkey-ga wrote below, and we should believe him since he is
a twin boy, prolly should look at another naming convention. For
parents the urge to make the names have something in common I can see
would be very great.

How about something like
2 disciples of Jesus- Mark & John
Naming them after the Presidents Bush, name one Herbert and the other Walker
2 great inventors - Henry (Ford) & Thomas (Edison)
2 great American Heros - Martin (Luther King) & Thomas (Jefferson he
was the lead author on the Constituition)
2 Great American Football players - Brett (Favre) & Reggie (White)
Editorial Comment The Pack will be Back!
2 Great American Masters of Art - Steven (Speilberg) & I cna't think
fo another just right now :-o
2 other Great Americans - John (Kennedy) & Bobby (Kennedy)
2 Great American Explorers - John (Glenn the astronought) & Lewis
(Actually it is Meriwether Lewis, Lewis being the last name, but you
could use it as a first name)

My personal preference is for Great American Frontiersmen, Pioneers,
Explorers, Trappers Check out this website -
http://www.linecamp.com/museums/americanwest/hubs/pioneers_explorers_frontiersmen/pioneers_explorers_frontiersmen.html
Check out these great men and see if any of them inspire you.

And as I have now learned from dieselmonkey-ga I guess we should not
name twins with cutise or rhyming names. Thanks for telling us that
dieselmonkey-ga .

I know that it seems nice to have the names relate in some way by
sound, but one day, when you have to call them, admonish them
individually, it will be clearer which one you mean if the names don't
rhyme or start with the same letter and have the same number of
syllables.

You might consider giving them second names that don't fit any
pattern, great opportunity to honor both granddads.

What's in a name: Highlights from our 2005 Baby Name Survey

It's been five years since we conducted our last Baby Name survey, and
we decided it was time to do it again. The response from our readers
was immediate and enthusiastic: We heard from more than 35,000 parents
all over the world, who checked in to let us know just how, when, and
why they chose their child's name.

Some highlights from our survey:

When I was a kid, there was a family my parents were friends with--the
Bobenchuck family. Well, what do you think they named their two boys?

Yep: Bob and Chuck.

"Hi, these are my sons, Bob and Chuck Bobenchuck..."

Not particularly helpful to your quest (except to underscore what to
not do), but thought I'd throw it in as a funny anecdote just for
sport.

I knew a family that had two boys, Tom and Dick. On the third
pregnancy, they decided on Harry. Fate threw them a twist, they had a
girl! So instead, they named her Ann, and tried again --now they have
Tom, Dick, Ann, Harry.

True story. Also, a few years back I dated a guy, he has a twin: Tom & Jerry!
