I am looking for: 1) An "internationally accepted" terrorist organization list as defined by an international organization such as the United Nations 2) I am also looking for links to as many country terrorist organization lists as possible (I have already found the US, UK, Canadian and Australian lists). Please find the country lists for Japan, China, France, Germany, Russia, Spain, Italy, any Arabic country lists and any additional countries lists. | |

Here you can look at the terrorist groups in each country: http://www.tkb.org/Home.jsp About the United Nations: "The 15-member Counter-Terrorism Committee (CTC) was established at the same time to monitor implementation of the resolution. While the ultimate aim of the Committee is to increase the ability of States to fight terrorism, it is not a sanctions body nor does it maintain a list of terrorist organizations or individuals" (http://www.un.org/sc/ctc/) |

Dear YB, You have two questions. I can only answer one (the second). As for the first question, I don't think that you'll ever find an agreed-upon list, from an organisation such as the UN. The UN is exposed to all kinds of political pressures that would eliminate such a list. The abovementioned committee deals mostly (if not only) with Al-Qaeda and Al-Qaeda related organisations/indioviduals, and the list is such a list. If you 'll post your questions separately, I may be able to answer the second, leaving the first to someone who'd manage to convince the UN to compile such a list. |
