I have a question regarding Microsoft Access. For instance if I was
comparing the weight, height, and waist circumference of a person A at
two or more particular time points and recorded in Access as a table
format by person name and the three variables- what is the query code
to automatically take both records and substract one from each other
(provided I just chose two records and that information is available
in a query format) Meaning, I already did the duplicate records query
-and I have all the information in one table format that looks like
this:
Person A : day of visit: Height: weight: waist circumference
Person A: day of visitII: Height II: WeightII: waist circumference II:

From what you've stated, there is nothing to prevent you from entering
a third record for Person A (or fourth or fifth). For that reason,
what you will actually get is plot points on the three dimensions
you've mentioned. Queries cannot know which value to subtract from
which unless you give it two seperate columns to operate on (not two
value from different records in the same column).

ResidencyHelp,

Does this have to occur in a Query? Would a form that allows you to
enter/select a name or id and click a button to see all the available
measurements for that person in date order with differences calculated
do? Or perhaps a report of some kind?

ResidencyHelp,

It would also help to know which version of Access you use.
