What must the immune system utilize to turn on the genes for
apoptosis?

Three key players:

TNF alpha and beta and FasL (fas ligand). TNF produced by Thelper
cells, Cytotoxic T cells, FasL


Problem is, many cancer cells have defects in the apoptotic pathway.
