Hi, i'm looking for rhymes to help remember British Kings/Queens and
important events from British History (like the black death in 1348
etc, magna carta 1215). Can you find any please?

The dates would only need to cover from 1066 and William the Conqueror
up to present day. Rhymes could be of any length.

Hi ethendras,

Please take a look at these and let me know if they suit your purpose:

English / British Historical Doggerel by Dr. Donald Stevens
"These are little rhymes to try to fix historical dates in one?s mind.
They make no pretence to poetry. They are purely practical. They are
mainly in sequence of date, and are mostly concerned with
English/British history. I have occasionally indicated a forced
pronunciation to help the rhythm."

I do not know mnemonic verses relating to general British history, but
here is the classic rhyme that helps you to remember the monarchs
(numerous variants of this verse, all slightly different, exist):

Willie, Willie, Harry, Steve,
Harry, Dick, John, Harry three;
One, two, three Neds, Richard two
Harrys four, five, six... then who?
Edwards four, five, Dick the bad,
Harrys (twain), Ned six (the lad);
Mary, Bessie, James you ken,
Then Charlie, Charlie, James again...
Will and Mary, Anna Gloria,
Georges four, Will four, Victoria;
Edward seven next, and then
Came George the fifth in nineteen ten;
Ned the eighth soon abdicated
Then George six was coronated;
After which Elizabeth
And that's all folks until her death.

Willie, Willie, Harry, Steve,
Harry, Dick, John, Harry Three,
Edward One, Two, Three, Dick Two,
Henry Four, Five, Six, then who?
Edward Four, Five, Dick the Bad,
Harrys twain and Ned, the lad.
Mary, Lizzie, James the Vain,
Charlie, Charlie, James again.
William and Mary, Anne o'Gloria,
Four Georges, William and Victoria.
Edward Seven, Georgie Five,
Edward, George and Liz (alive)
